Restoring America’s Everglades means reconnecting the natural flow of freshwater!
For decades, roads, levees and other infrastructure have altered how water moves through South Florida, disrupting the Everglades’ natural water flow.
The Blue Shanty Flow Way Project is helping change that!
In partnership with the South Florida Water Management District, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is advancing efforts to remove barriers, reconnect wetlands and allow freshwater to move more naturally south through the Everglades.
With work accelerated to align with the Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) Reservoir Project’s targeted 2029 completion, this effort represents another important step toward restoring a healthier, more resilient Everglades for future generations.
