ZTT Submarine Cable & System has been awarded an engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning (EPIC) contract from China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group (CGN) for its Huizhou Port II offshore wind power project in China.
The 750MW project is located off the coast of Huizhou city, Guangdong province. It will comprise wind turbines of different ratings: nine of 14MW turbines, 45 of 12MW and ten of 8.5MW.
ZTT will supply and install a 170-km 220kV three-core submarine cable in water depths of up to 40 metres.
Huizhou Port II will be the first large-scale offshore project in the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. Upon completion, installed offshore wind capacity at Huizhou Port will total 1GW.
