WEDA Eastern Chapter Meeting Draws More Than 200 Dredging Industry Professionals to Wilmington

Posted on October 19, 2026

The Western Dredging Association (WEDA) Eastern Chapter Meeting brought together more than 200 professionals from across the dredging, maritime, navigation, engineering, environmental, academic, and government sectors for several days of learning, collaboration, and connection.

From thought-provoking technical sessions and industry updates to engaging networking events, Women of WEDA, Young WEDA, and conversations about the future of our waterways, coastlines, ports, and communities, the energy throughout the week was incredible.

A highlight of the meeting was seeing experienced industry leaders, emerging professionals, students, regulators, contractors, consultants, technology providers, and project owners all sharing ideas and building relationships. These connections are what make WEDA special and help move our industry forward.

A sincere thank you to our outstanding keynotes, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers, and attendees. Your expertise, enthusiasm, and commitment created a memorable event and demonstrated the strength of the WEDA community.

We are especially grateful to everyone who contributed their time and knowledge to discussions on navigation, coastal resilience, beneficial use, innovation, workforce development, and the challenges and opportunities ahead for our industry.

Together, we are advancing solutions that support commerce, strengthen coastal communities, improve navigation, and protect our nation’s waterways.

Thank you, Wilmington, for being an exceptional host city. We are already looking forward to continuing the conversations and reconnecting with everyone in Fort Lauderdale next year!
