Shannon named Operations Project Manager at Table Rock Lake

BRANSON, Mo. – Dennis Shannon was recently named the operations project manager at Table Rock Lake for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District.  Shannon replaces Rebecca Shortt who became the deputy director, USACE Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity Mandatory Center of Expertise.

In his new position, Shannon will lead a team that supports the USACE missions of flood control, recreation, natural resources management, and hydropower production at Table Rock Lake.

He will be responsible for the preparation and execution of a multi-million dollar combined annual budget, and for developing operations and maintenance plans for all project facilities to ensure the health and safety of project users, the workforce, and to protect and extend the useful life of the facilities. This includes all flood control structures, dam, powerhouse, public use areas, and natural resources.

Shannon has 26-years of federal service with the Little Rock and Rock Island Districts. During his career Shannon has served as a civil engineer and chief for locks and dams on the Mississippi River in the Rock Island District. He also served as the OPM for the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System in the Little Rock District. Prior to his selection as the OPM at Table Rock Lake he served as the OPM for the Illinois Waterway, as a member of the Rock Island District.

He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Bradley University, is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois and is Level 3 professionally certified in Facilities Engineering.
