Officials to mark beginning of storm sewer improvement project

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rep. Robin Kelly (IL-02), and Flossmoor Mayor Michelle Nelson will hold a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the beginning of a storm sewer improvement project in Flossmoor:

WHEN: Thursday, May 5, 2022

WHERE: Intersection of Berry Lane and Bob O Link Road, Flossmoor, IL

TIME: 10:30 a.m.

The project will provide improvements to the Village of Flossmoor’s storm sewer infrastructure to reduce roadway and residential flooding along Berry Lane in Flossmoor, Illinois. Work includes installation of over 2600 feet of concrete storm sewer, 14 manholes, and 18 storm catch basins along Berry Lane, Bob ‘O Link Road, Oakmont Avenue, and Maryland Avenue – where it will connect with an existing storm sewer under Sterling Avenue.

This project is part of the Cook County Environmental Infrastructure 219 project and has been allocated $1,500,000 of federal funding. Local sponsor is the Village of Flossmoor.
