Rohr-Idreco Dredge Systems Europe, with a manufacturing plant in Mannheim Germany and second factory in Doetinchem the Netherlands, is delighted to welcome Thomas Kuhn onboard as its Sales Director for Germany and surrounding countries, representing the complete Rohr-Idreco product portfolio. Previously Kuhn worked for another European dredge manufacturer. Thomas brings with him more than three decades of experience especially serving clients in the sand and gravel dredging industry where R-I already excels. He can be reached on +49 171 895 3006.

Matthijs Simons, who has worked at various times for the group as an independent contractor, has joined us fulltime as all-round service engineer. Matthijs works out of the Netherlands office. Meanwhile Jim Havekes is adding some young blood to the engineering team.
New Sales Development —Long Term Operating Lease in Sand & Gravel Sector
At the same time R-I has inked a long-term contract with a major sand & gravel company in Germany to deliver and operate a 52 m digging depth electric dredge where it will be paid on a per tonnage basis. This arrangement will enable the client to optimize and fix its costs, converting a substantial fixed cost into a variable cost. It also leaves the client free to focus on process areas of strength and mitigate risks in other areas.
Such contracts are part of R-I’s long term strategy.
