HOUSTON – Construction has begun on a new cruise terminal at the Port of Galveston. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on August 20 with a number of elected officials and community leaders including executives from MSC Cruises and the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) in attendance.
The terminal is being built in an existing cargo warehouse and will be converted into the NEW home to MSC Seascape in November 2025. The new terminal will provide a state-of-the-art facility for cruise passengers and will be a major economic driver for the Port of Galveston and the surrounding area.
The $151 million project includes a 165,000-square-foot terminal and a $55 million parking garage that will provide easy access for passengers to board and disembark from cruise ships.
