MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — Dredging Mobile Bay is necessary, but what is done with all that silt and sediment being scooped out? Artificial reefs!
The US Army Corps of Engineers is using 3D-printed coral, made from dredged sediment, to create artificial reefs in Mobile Bay.
And that is proving to be a success, officials said.
