Posted on September 2, 2026

Michels has been awarded a progressive design-build contract for construction of the SeaPoint Industrial Terminal Complex, a 226-acre fully private multiuse marine terminal in Savannah, Ga.

Part of the 755-acre SeaPoint Complex, the new SeaPoint Terminal will be the closest terminal to the Atlantic Ocean in the port of Savannah and will have no air draft restrictions. Construction will encompass 3,000 feet of berth at a channel depth of 47 feet.

This transformative development will expand critical marine infrastructure capacity, support regional economic growth and create thousands of jobs throughout the project lifecycle. Construction will commence in 2027.

With more than 100 years of marine construction experience above and below water, on coastal shorelines, harbors, lakes and inland river systems, Michels provides collaborative, value-engineered solutions in complex marine environments. Capabilities include hydroelectric facilities, lock and dam projects, rail, deep foundations, ports, harbors, docks and terminals, marine support, rock placement, habitat rehabilitation and enhancement, bridges, island building, scour and erosion repair, gate installation and repair, and cofferdam installation.
