The Port of Kalama commission voted this week to award a maintenance dredging contract to the apparent low bidder, HME Construction, for $893,910.00. As part of a routine project to maintain the draft needed for large cargo ships the firm will remove dredged materials in front of the TEMCO Grain Terminal located at the Port. General business activity will not be interrupted during this time.
“One of the goals of the Port of Kalama is to provide the facilities needed for the commerce and success of our business tenants,” says Mark Wilson, executive director, Port of Kalama. “We are consistently taking a proactive approach maintaining Port infrastructure for these purposes.”
