On Aug. 4, The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District awarded a contract to SNA Contracting from Shreveport, LA. to pave recreation areas at Sam Rayburn and Town Bluff Lakes.
“This work is being completed under supplemental funding from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act,” said Sam Rayburn Lake Manager Reece Nelson.
With a contract award of roughly $3.4 million, work consists of repaving multiple areas, including Mill Creek Park and San Augustine Park at Sam Rayburn, and Sandy Creek Park at Town Bluff.
“Parking lot striping at multiple spots across Sam Rayburn Lake are also part of the contract. We are currently working with SNA to set a schedule, with a target date to start soon after Labor Day Weekend,” added Nelson.
Parks under construction will remain closed during construction to expedite work and keep both contractors and the public safe. Campers with reservations that are affected will be notified immediately once closures are made via recreation.gov notification system.
