Emerald Isle beach nourishment work expected to begin in late November

Posted on November 4, 2026

Beach nourishment work in Emerald Isle is expected to begin around Nov. 25, with construction planned in three sections through January, the town said.

Manson Construction is working under a contract with Carteret County and in coordination with the town. The schedule is tentative and could change due to weather or other factors, town officials said.

Work is expected to begin in western Emerald Isle, between Pebble Beach and Sea Oats Drive, and continue through mid-December. According to the town, crews would then move to the central section, between Elizabeth Street and Pier Pointe, with work expected to finish before the New Year’s holiday.

The final section, between 19th and 3rd streets, is expected to be completed by the end of January 2027.

Equipment staging is expected at isolated locations along the beach in the coming weeks. Construction will require temporary beach closures in some areas, which will be marked. The town said most of the beach strand is expected to remain open for recreation and beach driving.

The town will post updates on its digital platforms during construction.
