DredgeWire has learned that the Senior Management and the Board of Directors of Weeks Marine have agreed to the sale of the company to Kiewit Corporation and will become a wholly owned subsidiary. The Weeks Marine name will continue and the management structure will remain in place. Kiewit is one of the largest engineering and construction organizations with over $12 billion in revenue and is headquartered in Omaha, Ne. Weeks Marine is a leader in maritime construction and has three main divisions, Construction, Dredging and Marine Services- with two main subsidiaries, Healy Tibbitts Builders, Inc and McNally International, Inc. Weeks has been a family business since 1919 and is headquartered in Cranford, NJ.
Deal terms are not known. The deal is expected to be closed by the end of the year.
