Corps Dredge “Potter” has active schedule in Upper Mississippi River

CHANNEL MAINTENANCE DREDGING

USACE Dredge Potter

Upper Mississippi River mile 0 – 300

1. Commencing on 9 July 2021 and continuing until further notice, the US Army Corps of Engineers Dredge Potter will perform

channel maintenance dredging at various locations on the Upper Mississippi River from mile 0 to 300.0.

2. The Dredge Potter’s has completed assignments from mile 221 – 229 UMR, and is currently working at mile 234.5 UMR. The

updated schedule is as follows:

1. UMR mile 234.5: 22 – 25 July

2. UMR mile 243: 26 – 29 July

3. UMR mile 249.5: 30 July – 1 Aug

4. UMR mile 250.5: 2 Aug

5. UMR mile 253.5: 3 – 4 Aug

6. UMR mile 255: 5 Aug

7. UMR mile 266: 7 – 9 Aug

3. Updates will be provided as the Dredge Potter completes assignments.

4. The Dredge Potter and its attendant plant, to include tender boats, small boats, barges and pipeline, etc., work 24 hours a day, 7

days a week. When dredging, removed material is pumped through a pontoon pipeline or self-floating pipeline, which may be

crossing the channel, and is placed outside of the navigation channel. Mariners should be on the lookout for tender boats, barges,

small survey boats, and pipeline when transiting the dredge area.

5. The Dredge Potter may be contacted on VHF-FM radio channels 13 and 16. Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe

speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made with the Dredge Potter.
