Chaklala Cantonment Board (CCB) has completed annual dredging, de-silting work of Nullahs and excavators were used to properly clear the Nullahs said Additional Cantonment Executive Officer (ACEO) Naveed Nawaz.
Talking to APP he informed that the cleanup work of Nullahs, started last month has been completed. All available resources were utilized to save precious human lives and properties of the citizens particularly living near nullahs, he added.
He said that the focused areas were Dhoke Shera, Marrir Hassan and Sarwar Road where the nullahs were cleared through excavator machines while the drains and small nullahs of Lalazar, New Lalazar, Sher Zaman Colony, Dhoke Juma, Adayala Road, Thali More, Dheri Hassanabad, COD Road, Tariqabad, Shaheed Colony, Chungi No.22, Harley Street, Indus Road No.1 to 3, Khadim Hassan Road, Iftikhar Junjua Road, Mall Road, Sarwar Road, Sir Syed Road, Jhanda Chichi, Marrir Hassan, Dhoke Chirghdin, Tipu Road, Rawal Road, Shah Bibi Road, Sir Syed Chowk area, Gulistan Colony, Jhelum Road, Scheme-III, 10 Corps Headquarters, VIP Road and VVIP Routes were properly de-silted.
To a question Naveed informed, the CCB sanitation branch removes garbage from 350 points on daily basis while the operation is completed using 19 vehicles, six Compactors, two Tractor Trollies, two vehicles and five Shovels.
To another question he said, CCB has also introduced a Rikshaw service for door to door garbage collection for Lalazar and New Lalazar areas. Airport road, Mall road, Jhanda Chichi, Iftikhar Janua Road and all other important roads are swept on daily basis, he said adding, 32 truckloads building material and garbage from Rawal Colony were also lifted through excavators.
He urged the residents not to throw garbage and solid waste in nullahs which create obstacles in flow of water particularly during heavy rains and cause flash floods. The board has also introduced a mobile App to facilitate the residents and register complaints about sanitation, water supply, street lights, illegal construction and others.
Out of total 175 complaints received through mobile App, facilitation center, 173 have been resolved, he added.
