January 16, 2024, started out like any other morning for Katie as she drove to the landing for the Gulf Shores project headed down the dock toward her boat. But this morning would be different.
Katie heard someone shouting for help, which was coming from under the dock. At this moment Katie realized that the captain from the St. Louis River was in the water under the dock. Katie’s instincts kicked in as she calmly guided the captain over to the East River, deployed the Marcus man overboard rescue system, and used the boat hook to pull the captain out of the water unharmed.
