Wild Video captures expert mega-yacht captain docking in crowded marina

Posted on November 24, 2024

Lest we forget, the overwhelming majority of megayacht captains and crew are highly trained, highly professional, and highly capable. With the onslaught of bad-news coming from the Med this summer, it’s become easy to catastrophize the state of crew. But as this video will attest, an enormously high percentage of yachts are in very good hands.
This is a 60-meter boat backing into a tucked-away slip in Marina di Capri, Italy. If that wasn’t anxiety-inducing enough, check out all the little boats zipping around it the whole time. Looks like Rome at rush hour. Only in Italia!

P.S. the video is sped up

P.P.S. The song is “Priseincolinensinainciusol” by the Italian singer Adriano Celentano. He released it in 1972, and sang the whole thing in gibberish that sounded like English words. He wanted to prove that Italians would love any song sang in English. The song hit number one on the Italian charts (as well as in France, Germany, and Belgium)
