The conference will take place at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, NV, from July 17-20, 2023. WEDA’s technical sessions and panels at the Dredging Summit and Expo are the premier venue to discuss the science and practice of dredging, navigation, and marine engineering. Use the following link to submit abstracts using WEDA’s online system.
https://app.oxfordabstracts.com/stages/4894/submitter.
The deadline to submit abstracts for papers and extended abstracts is February 1, 2023.
The theme for this year’s conference is “Dredging: Innovations, Successes, and Lessons Learned“. The presentations featured at this conference are technical papers to be shared for advancing the science and profession of dredging, navigation, and marine engineering. The plenary sessions are not meant to provide a forum for promoting commercialized information. Registration for the conference will be available in mid-January.

ABSTRACT INSTRUCTIONS
Choose one of the following abstract submissions and include content as required for each.
Papers (oral presentations)
Peer-review papers will be included in the Conference Proceedings. Preference is given to full-paper submissions. Draft manuscripts are due March 28, 2023. For full consideration, abstracts must include information on the study/project background, objectives, conclusions, and implications.
Extended Abstracts (oral presentations)
The conference will accept a limited number of presentations based on peer-reviewing an extended abstract and presentation materials. The extended abstract and the presentation are due March 28, 2023. Abstracts must include information on the study/project background, objectives, conclusions, and implications.
Panel Discussion
Panel sessions are 100 minutes long, with at least four (4) panelists contributing to the theme. Each panel member will contribute to an interactive discussion during the last 20 minutes. Proposed panels must submit an abstract that identifies the panelists, specific topics to be discussed, and a summary of the overall topic and important discussion points. Panelists will also submit either a full paper or extended abstract by March 28, 2023.
Technical Session Proposals
Submissions for complete sessions on an important topic that contributes to the conference theme are encouraged. Technical sessions are 100 minutes long and typically have 4 or 5 presentations contributing to the theme. The Session organizer must submit a brief abstract of the session and identify the titles and authors of the 4 or 5 papers and the session moderator (typically the submitter). Individual authors must also submit abstracts and full papers or extended abstracts by the abstract submission deadline. The same requirements for final papers or extended abstracts and presentations will apply to each paper.
