Vard Vung Tau has successfully delivered NB 979, a tailor-made Service Operation Vessel (SOV), to Cyan Renewables, around six weeks ahead of the contractual delivery date of 16 June.
Based on the VARD 4 19 design, the vessel is purpose-built for offshore wind operations in Taiwan and will go directly from a short stay at Vard Vung Tau into a long-term assignment. NB 979 is secured on a 15-year contract supporting the Hai Long Offshore Wind Farm.
The vessel features a state-of-the-art hybrid power system, including a large battery capacity and DC grid technology, contributing to efficient and low-emission operations. It is also equipped with advanced logistics capabilities and a motion-compensated gangway system from Seaonics AS, ensuring safe and efficient personnel and cargo transfer.
