𝗩𝗮𝗻 𝗢𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝗿
On Thursday 30 October, Van Oord christened its new Water Injection Dredger (WID), Thor. Colleagues gathered at the quay of Van Oord’s head office in Rotterdam to celebrate this festive occasion.
Thor marks an exciting new step in WID development with low emissions and high manoeuvrability. Its compact and modular design makes it very efficient for smaller operations, such as the maintenance of small ports and marinas. Thor is designed and built by Kooiman Marine Group.

Van Oord is a global market leader in Water Injection Dredging, an efficient and environmentally friendly dredging technique that removes sediment in a natural way. It is a very effective solution for maintaining the depth of navigation channels, ports and rivers.
