Last week we celebrated the christening of the Boreas, the worldโs largest and most sustainable offshore wind installation vessel. We look back on a festive day with perfect weather conditions.
Moored in the city centre of Rotterdam, the magnificent vessel drew a lot of attention. The Boreas was a striking addition to the cityโs skyline – as captured in the photos!
With over 20 years of proven experience and a strong track record in offshore wind, Van Oord is leading the way in the transition towards renewable energy. With the Boreas, Van Oord is ready for future increases in scale in the offshore wind industry. The vessel can transport and install offshore wind turbines of more than 20 MW. One single wind turbine can generate power for approximately 24,000 EU households per year.
