CONCORD, Mass. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District received a permit application to conduct work in waters of the United States from the Town of Tisbury for proposed work in Vineyard Sound at 190 Beach Road in Tisbury, Massachusetts.
The proposed work will be conducted in two primary sections. The southern section will continue to support current Tisbury Marine Terminal operations and be utilized as a materials, cargo and bulk transfer/storage facility, and marine terminal accommodating a variety equipment, vessels and barges. The northern section of the site will serve as the new operations and maintenance facility for future offshore wind operations.
Proposed work at the southern section involves replacement and realignment of the existing solid-fill pier, barge access and berthing area improvements, and steel bulkhead improvements. Proposed work at the northern section involves creating a facility berthing area, a new bulkhead and fendering system, and constructing a new pile-supported pier deck and bulkhead.
USACE is soliciting comments from members of the public; federal, state and local agencies; American Indian Tribes; and other interested parties to consider and evaluate the impacts of this
