MECHANICAL DREDGING (STRIKE REMOVAL)

USACE PATHFINDER

Kaskaskia River Mile 0 – 0.6

  1. Mechanical dredging will commence on 16 September at the Kaskaskia River Mouth to Costello Lock and Dam, river mile 0 to 0.6, on the Kaskaskia River.  Dredging will be performed from 0600 to 1800 hours daily, and is estimated to be complete by 23 September at 1800 hours.
  1. No recreational mooring behind the downstream guide wall or within 1600-ft below the dam will be allowed starting on 18 September 2026 at 1200 hours through 23 September at 1800 hours.
  1. No river closure for dredging operations is anticipated. The contact boat for making passing arrangements is the USACE M/V Pathfinder and can be contacted on VHF-FM radio channels.
  1. Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made with the M/V Pathfinder.
