MECHANICAL DREDGING (STRIKE REMOVAL)
USACE PATHFINDER
Kaskaskia River Mile 0 – 0.6
- Mechanical dredging will commence on 16 September at the Kaskaskia River Mouth to Costello Lock and Dam, river mile 0 to 0.6, on the Kaskaskia River. Dredging will be performed from 0600 to 1800 hours daily, and is estimated to be complete by 23 September at 1800 hours.
- No recreational mooring behind the downstream guide wall or within 1600-ft below the dam will be allowed starting on 18 September 2026 at 1200 hours through 23 September at 1800 hours.
- No river closure for dredging operations is anticipated. The contact boat for making passing arrangements is the USACE M/V Pathfinder and can be contacted on VHF-FM radio channels.
- Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made with the M/V Pathfinder.
