State Seeks Army Corps Approval For Dredging

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation Highway Division (MassDOT) is seeking approval from the Army Corps of Engineers to dredge an area of Cohasset Narrows in Buzzards Bay. The dredging would take place adjacent to the recently reconstructed William H. Dalton Memorial Bridge, near the Bourne-Wareham town line.

In a statement, MassDOT officials explained they would be looking to dredge 1,341 cubic yards of material over a 33,791-square-foot area within the Cohasset Narrows. The work is designed to remove accumulated sediment that resulted from construction, and return the area to its pre-construction conditions.
