Sea Port Authority Signs Contract with Belgium’s Novadeal to Carry Out Dredging Works at Yuzhny Port

Ukrainian Sea Port Authority has signed a contract with Novadeal Ltd, the subsidiary of DEME Group (Belgium), to implement a project on dredging works to reconstruct the maritime approach channel and inland water approaches to the deep-sea quays of Yuzhny seaport.

“We are glad to receive Belgium’s Novadeal as a partner in development of Yuzhny port’s infrastructure. This cooperation will be useful both for us as a company and the marine sector of Ukraine in general,” Head of Ukrainian Sea Port Authority Raivis Veckagans said during the signing ceremony in the Belgian Embassy in Ukraine.

He said that the authority finishes the dredging program at the Yuzhny port for 2017 with this, third, contract.

Belgian Ambassador to Ukraine Luc Jacobs, Deputy Regional Director of DEME Group Jean-Pierre Desmanent, Head of the Yuzhny port administration Maksym Shyrokov and Deputy Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Vikor Donvan took part in the signing ceremony.

As reported, Novadeal won the tender in the ProZorro e-public procurement system offering the lowest price of UAH 96.28 million.
