Port of Los Angeles appoints Director of Internal Audit

The Port of Los Angeles has appointed Alvin Chu as Director of its Internal Audit Division, where he will oversee a comprehensive audit programme designed to identify risk, promote efficiency and advocate for responsible stewardship of port resources.

Chu brings 19 years of auditing experience spanning both public and private sectors. He most recently served as Assistant City Auditor at the Long Beach City Auditor’s Office and previously led the Fraud, Waste and Abuse unit within the Office of the Los Angeles City Controller’s Audit Division.

He holds a double major in economics and history from the University of California, Los Angeles and carries both Certified Internal Auditor and Certified Fraud Examiner certifications.

Stephanie Magnien Rockwell, Chief of Staff at the Port of Los Angeles, welcomed Chu to the organisation, highlighting the depth of experience he brings from across the public and private sectors to this critical governance function.
