The Port of Jacksonville in Florida plans to spend $684 million for dredging to create a deeper port in anticipation of more and larger cargo ships.

The Port of Jacksonville in Florida plans to spend $684 million for dredging to create a deeper port in anticipation of more and larger cargo ships, reports The Florida Times-Union.

Dredging will deepen the St. Johns River from 40 feet to 47 feet to accommodate super-sized cargo ships.
