Portions of Pass-a-Grille beach, from 9th Avenue (just south of Paradise Grille) to the jetty fishing pier are closed for beach nourishment starting today, Monday, July 29.
Pass-a-Grille businesses will remain open and accessible throughout the project area. However, pier access and approximately 40 beach parking spaces on Gulf Way, between 1st Avenue and 3rd Avenue will be closed for the rest of this project phase. The beach and all parking north of Paradise Grille remains open.
The southern section of the project is expected to be completed by mid-September, weather-permitting. At that time, the south end of the beach will be reopened and nourishment will be moved north of Paradise Grille. The entire project is scheduled to be finished by mid-November, again, weather-permitting.
It is important that beachgoers stay clear of active construction zones and boaters are advised to use caution around the dredging area and follow all local notices to mariners.

As a reminder, sea turtle nesting season is ongoing through October. Pinellas County and our contractor will work closely with our partners to minimize disruptions to nests within the project area.
