NPA redeploys Apapa Port Manager, Olotu to Marina Headquarters as AGM

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has announced the redeployment of Mrs Olufunmilayo Bolanle Olotu, the distinguished Port Manager of the Apapa Premier Port, to the Marina Headquarters in Lagos. Mrs Olotu will now serve as the Assistant General Manager of Tariff and Billing, leveraging her exceptional skills and expertise in revenue generation and collection.

Mrs. Olotu assumed the position of Port Manager of the Lagos Port Complex (LPC), Apapa, in 2019, succeeding Hajia Aisha Ali-Ibrahim. Throughout her tenure, she has consistently displayed an unwavering commitment to organisational goals and standards, as well as national interests, particularly in revenue generation and collection.

In recognition of her outstanding performance, Mrs Olotu was honoured by the NPA as the best-performing Port Manager in Nigeria in 2021. With her extensive knowledge and experience, she has proven herself to be a rare breed of “billing expert” in port operations.

Speaking at a stakeholder engagement event to introduce the new Apapa Port Manager, Mrs Olotu remarked: “My transfer to the Marina Headquarters as Assistant General Manager Tariff and Billing highlights the NPA’s recognition of my exceptional capabilities and the trust placed in my ability to contribute further to the organization’s success. My deep understanding of tariff and billing operations, coupled with my strong work ethic and results-oriented approach, will undoubtedly enhance revenue collection and drive continued growth in my new role”.

To ensure a smooth transition, Mrs. Olotu met with various stakeholders in the industry. This engagement focused on discussing pertinent issues and ensuring that the new Port Manager is fully aware of the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Mrs Olotu’s time at the Lagos Port Complex, is marked by remarkable accomplishments, including effective revenue plugging on tanker vessels, the introduction of a manual call-up system in LPC, enforcement of the Minimum Safety Standards (MSS) on trucks calling Apapa, unprecedented debt recovery, the implementation of the electronic call-up system among others.
