PUMPS are to be installed at Victoria Dock‘s half-tide basin in Hull to combat rising silt levels in the Humber and protect hundreds of homes from flooding.
The move comes after it was revealed siltation levels in the estuary are the highest for 50 years.
The half-tide basin is used to store highways and groundwater drainage from the surrounding housing estate on the dock.
