Long Beach Township Is Next Stop For Replenishment Crews

Contractors completing beach replenishment work for theU.S. Army Corps of Engineers will soon begin moving their equipment to Nebraska Avenue in the Haven Beach section of Long Beach Township.

The crews from Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company are, for now, still in Ship Bottom progressing southward. Over the past several weeks, workers have begun the process of creating new dune crossovers on each street for beach access purposes. Like those completed in Surf City, the crossovers will be angled so no portion of the dune is physically cut from the beachfront to the street, allowing for a full layer of protection during storms.
