If you are planning to use Sutherland Reservoir, the Nebraska Public Power District is asking you to stay away from the intake channel area at Gerald Gentleman Station this summer and fall.
Beginning Monday, Nebraska Public Power District is dredging the intake channel. Work is expected to continue through Oct. 23, Monday through Friday.
Normally, boaters are not allowed into this channel, which brings water from Sutherland Reservoir into the plant. For the public’s safety, NPPD is asking individuals who like to fish or use the reservoir for other recreational purposes to stay away from the area while dredging is underway.
