DEME’s Norse Wind Installs First 15 MW Turbine at RWE’s Nordseecluster A Offshore Wind Farm

Posted on June 15, 2026

Our jack-up offshore transport & installation vessel Norse Wind has installed the first 15 MW turbine at RWE’s Nordseecluster A project in the German North Sea. Norse Wind operates from the Port Esbjerg (Denmark), transporting and installing up to five turbine sets per cycle.

By the end of 2026, all 44 Vestas turbines for the 660 MW Nordseecluster A are expected to be in place. Each turbine will have a capacity of up to 15 MW, with a hub height of 145 meters and rotor blades measuring 115 meters. Nordseecluster A is the first phase of the 1.6 GW Nordseecluster, a joint offshore wind project between #teamRWE and Norges Bank Investment Management.

As a next-generation jack-up offshore transport & installation vessel, Norse Wind is designed for the offshore wind industry’s largest components. It is equipped with a 3,200-ton crane and capable of transporting and installing the latest generation of 15–20 MW turbines.
