DEME Group chooses TBH for Project Control Services for the docking of TSHD Brabo and TSHD Bonny River

DEME Group, world leaders in dredging, land reclamation, marine infrastructure and environmental remediation chose TBH for their expertise in planning and control services in Singapore and Croatia. 

TBH, a leading specialist in high-risk, large-scale projects was contracted to provide Planning and Scheduling support for the major repairs in drydock of the Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger “Bonny River” and “Brabo”. During such a major repair periodic, preventive, and curative maintenance is executed by various parties all under the supervision by DEME’s Technical Department.  TBH was requested to provide the necessary qualified Project Controls Engineer from start till finish to collect, analyze and assist the Project Manager in effective management and decision making to reduce the downtime, as well as any potential delays to the project.  

TBH Senior Consultant Thuzar Lwin, who provided the Project Controls support on the “Bonny River” said “the level of detail in the integrated schedule coupled with the robust process made the project run smoothly. Site teams members were technically sound and supportive in updating the planning and control system. DEME’s Project Control Coordinator also provided assistance and guidance throughout the execution phase. I am very happy to be part of DEME team to see the successful delivery of the major repair ahead of schedule”.  

TBH’s scope of services included: 

  • Monitoring & processing the daily progress in Primavera P6; 
  • Variance and “What-if” analysis against the Baseline Schedule; 
  • Class detection between the different contractors, suppliers and DEME site team 
  • Close follow-up of the High Risk activities and activities on the Critical Path; and 
  • Weekly reporting to DEME senior management.

Meanwhile, the Project Control Coordinator from DEME CPMO Nikos Giakoumatos provided guidance on DEME’s Project Control processes throughout the project as we worked closely to improve the schedule, analyze the critical path, and plan out resources.”
