We’ve just wrapped up dredging on the Ashby Canal!
Over 7,000 tons of sediment were removed from a 4-mile stretch between Sutton Cheney and Market Bosworth, helping to keep this historic canal open and navigable.
A floating digger did the heavy lifting, with dredged silt reused to reinforce canal banks and enrich nearby farmland.
This work helps ensure the Ashby Canal remains a special place for boaters, walkers, wildlife, and holidaymakers all summer long.
