Army Corps Proposes Emergency Dredging for Cohasset Harbor Channel

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has proposed emergency maintenance dredging for the Cohasset Harbor Channel. Without it, the commercial fishing fleet will be unable to get in and out of the harbor at low tide, crippling these local businesses for yet another season.

The channel was, of course, supposed to be cleared as part of the 2015-16 dredging project that began last October. But whether it was the project’s late start, problems with equipment, teams, and weather, or disputes between the various parties involved in the project, it didn’t get done in time.
