Wildlife officials provide update on cleanup efforts at Indian Lake

Posted on September 14, 2022

Wildlife officials have provided an update on the ongoing fight against invasive aquatic weeds at Indian Lake.

For the last time Burrey Aquatic Restoration operated at Indian Lake last week. The contractor used an aquatic weed cutter machine and was able to remove 2,581 cubic yards of vegetation from the lake over the last 3 months.

A dredging machine has also removed more than 2,700 cubic yard of sediment from the nature preserve area.

Residents can drop off vegetation they have removed from their private docks at two drop off locations, the gravel pull off parking lot by Moundoff Marina and the helipad parking lot on the southeast corner off Sate Route 366 bear Artist Island.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources and Indian Lake officials said they will continue to update the public on their website.
