Beach trip! We recently journeyed south to one of Louisiana’s most famous beaches for a project update on the Grand Isle Beach and Dune Restoration. Grand Isle, the state’s only inhabited barrier island, was badly damaged by Hurricane Ida, and this work will restore four miles of beach and dunes. When finished, it will add an extra layer of protection for the residents against future storms. This partnership between the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, the Town of Grand Isle, and CPRA will help preserve this unique area of Louisiana’s coast for future generations to enjoy.
