Newbuild 978 for Island Offshore has been launched from Vard Shipyards Romania – Tulcea and is on its way to Vard Langsten in Norway, where the next phase of outfitting and completion will take place. The vessel is scheduled for delivery in Q1 2027.
NB 978 is a complete VARD delivery vessel, covering everything from design and hull construction to outfitting and commissioning. This is made possible through our integrated value chain, bringing together expertise from across VARD and highlighting the shipbuilding expertise we share in common with our owner FINCANTIERI
The vessel is based on the VARD 3 25 design, which is developed to provide excellent station-keeping, maneuverability and sea-keeping capabilities. The hull is optimized for efficient operations, while the vessel is also prepared for alternative low-emission fuels.
