USACE to Release 2026 Road Map for Everglades Restoration Projects

Posted on May 22, 2026

JACKSONVILLE – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District will release the roadmap for the next phase of Everglades restoration – the Final 2026 Integrated Delivery Schedule (IDS) – during a virtual session of the Working Group of the South Florida Ecosystem Restoration Task Force (SFER).

The IDS serves as the roadmap for the sequencing of planning, design, and construction for major Everglades restoration project, aligning federal and state priorities and providing a clear path forward for continued progress across South Florida.

The 2026 IDS reflects sustained federal leadership and investment in Everglades restoration, including actions taken during the Trump Administration to advance project delivery, strengthen intergovernmental coordination, and emphasize timely implementation of restoration priorities.

The schedule is a forward-looking overview of upcoming project milestones and programmatic costs for the SFER program, to include:

• Modified Water Deliveries to Everglades National Park,
• Critical restoration projects,
• Kissimmee River Restoration,
• Central and Southern Florida (C&SF) projects,
• Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP) projects.

CERP – the largest aquatic ecosystem restoration effort in the nation – spans more than 18,000 square miles and is designed to improve the health of more than 2.4 million acres of the Everglades ecosystem. CERP focuses on “getting the water right”.

As a living document, the IDS synchronizes program and project priorities with the State of Florida and supports achievement of Everglades restoration objectives at the earliest practicable time, consistent with annual funding updates and interdependencies between projects.

The public and stakeholders are invited to attend the meeting virtually.

The  Working Group – SFER Task Force will meet Friday, May 29, 2026 from  9 a.m. to noon.
