USACE Jacksonville, Fl. Issues Findings of No Significant Impact on Supplemental Environmental Assessment for Duval County Shore Protection Project

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Jacksonville District and U.S. Department of Interior (DOI), Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), issue the Notice of Availability (NOA) of the Draft Supplemental Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Proposed Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Duval County Shore Protection Project (SPP), Duval County, Florida.

The purpose of the project is to provide periodic renourishment of 10 miles of Atlantic shoreline between the St. Johns River to the Duval County – St. Johns County line.  This SEA evaluates borrow area B1, located approximately 8.5 miles offshore, for the continued use of up to 2.3 million cubic yards of material for periodic or emergency renourishment Duval County, Florida shorelines.

The Draft SEA, Proposed FONSI, and a signed copy of the NOA are available for review on the Jacksonville District, USACE Environmental Documents website at:
