USACE Galveston hosted dredging contractors and more than 20 ports along the gulf coast on October 1, 2024

The forum was co-chaired by Colonel Rhett Blackmon USACE Galveston, Deputy Cmdr. Nathaniel (Nate) Weander, PMP of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans  District, Nate Lovelace representing U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, Walker Smith, Port Director of The Port of Harlingen Authority, Texas and Pat Younger, Executive Director of the Gulf Ports Association.

William Doyle, CEO of the DCA stated:  “The Gulf Coast is comprised of critical gateways for inbound and outbound waterborne commerce of the United States.  These are important stakeholder meetings where thoughts and ideas are discussed to help make coastal and waterway operations more efficient— thank you all for your leadership.”
