Benghazi Municipality announced last Thursday (9 May) the arrival of the second batch of equipment from the Turkish STFA company to implement its contract to deepen (dredge) the basin of the Benghazi Free Zone port.
The Municipality said the aim is to enable the port to receive huge cargo ships and expand the container dock to raise its capacity in preparation for operating the port.
The project is under the supervision of the National Development Agency.
STFA has had a long history of implementing projects in Libya with at least 45 announced projects since the Qaddafi regime.
