Dredging works have begun at the Tesa Dam in East Legon as part of ongoing efforts by the Flood Mitigation Taskforce to reduce flood risks in Accra.
The exercise involves the removal of silt and other obstructions affecting the dam’s capacity and drainage channels, following concerns over encroachment and activities that have narrowed the natural waterway.
The intervention forms part of the government’s broader measures to improve water flow and strengthen flood resilience in vulnerable communities.
