The Board of Directors of the Steamship Trade Association of Baltimore (STA) today announced Joseph M. Greco Sr. has been named President of the association.
Greco is a veteran maritime and logistics executive with more than 25 years of industry experience spanning port operations, labor relations, commercial development, and supply chain strategy. He has held senior leadership roles at Ports America, Tradepoint Atlantic, Maryland Port Administration, and Columbia Coastal, bringing a comprehensive understanding of the port ecosystem and the stakeholders it serves.

The STA plays a vital role in the Port of Baltimore, representing the member companies whose collective efforts drive the Port’s success. Founded in 1929, the Steamship Trade Association of Baltimore is a nonprofit management trade association representing maritime and maritime-related companies conducting business at the Port of Baltimore, including stevedores, terminal operators, maintenance and repair firms, line handlers, and warehouse operators. The Port of Baltimore supports 20,300 direct jobs, more than 273,000 jobs statewide and generates over $70 billion in annual economic activity underscoring the critical role of STA and its members to Maryland’s economy.
Under Greco’s leadership, STA will continue to focus on labor stability, workforce development, operational modernization, and policies that enhance the Port of Baltimore’s competitiveness while supporting the thousands of workers and businesses that depend on it.
