The GLC is pleased to announce our 2024 Annual Meeting, which will be held in Rochester, New York this October. Events are scheduled for October 8-10 in coordination with the Great Lakes Coastal Assembly, which will be holding its biannual Coastal Symposium earlier in the week.
The city of Rochester sits on the southern shore of Lake Ontario and along the banks of the Genesee River. At the mouth of the river is a 35-square-mile bay known as the Rochester Embayment. Recently, the U.S. EPA, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and other partners launched the official process to remove the Rochester Embayment from the list of Great Lakes Areas of Concern, regions in the Great Lakes that need special attention due to environmental degradation.
