San Francisco Bay Ferry will suspend its South San Francisco route from November 1 through November 30, 2026, while crews dredge the waterway at the Oyster Point terminal, according to the agency’s October 8 announcement. The last day of service is Friday, October 30, and the agency expects service to resume on December 1 with current schedules.
The decision for East Bay riders is how to reach South San Francisco in November and, separately, whether a weekday trip is affected by the new schedules that start November 2. Weekday ferries between Oakland and Downtown San Francisco will no longer stop at Main Street Alameda, which is the change most likely to catch regular riders off guard.
