Last week, Royal IHC had the honour of welcoming the Defense Commission of the Assemblรฉe Nationale (French parliament) to our shipyard in Krimpen aan den IJssel. Their visit offered a valuable opportunity to experience first-hand the scale and capabilities of our operations โ and in particular, our contribution to the ORKA submarine programme.
The delegation was impressed by the rapid progress made on our slipway, where significant construction milestones have already been achieved. We also emphasised a key strength of Royal IHC: we are the only shipyard in the Netherlands capable of delivering a fully integrated product โ from cradle to operational deployment โ on this scale.
The visit was also an important occasion to provide insight into the Dutch-French partnership in the ORKA project, and to highlight the broader, long-standing collaboration between French and Dutch companies in the defence sector โ a relationship that has only grown stronger in recent years.
