The provincial government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands to encourage the development of supply chains for the export of NL hydrogen to Europe.
Premier Andrew Furey and Energy Minister Andrew Parsons were in the Netherlands today today for the MOU signing with René van der Plas, the Director of the Port of Rotterdam.
Rotterdam is the largest inland port in Europe and the 11th largest container port in the world.
The province says Europe is a key export market for Newfoundland and Labrador’s hydrogen.
Rotterdam is hosting a World Hydrogen Summit this week and the Premier and minister are leading NL’s delegation at the conference.
