Now, she will concentrate on the talents and ideas required to future-proof the marine industry.

Elaine will establish and cultivate strategic partnerships with external partners from industry, academia, and government to assist enterprises and start-ups in accelerating their ideas into commercial success.

To do this, she will also look at expanding the Hub’s and Port of Tyne’s networks and capacities to offer the testbeds and support these enterprises require in the years ahead.

We’re thrilled to welcome her to the team.”

Elaine Scott added: “I’m absolutely thrilled to join the Port of Tyne at this pivotal moment, as we are making a step change for both the port itself and the 2050 Maritime Innovation Hub. The ambition is truly inspiring and the team here is amazing. I am excited to help take the Hub as a significant innovation asset in the North East and the UK to the next level along with colleagues and our partners.”
